Lag FTL
Any1 else experiencing bad lag? I know there is the type of lag that is your computer only. But on Sunday Mar. 18th, in a GVG battle every single person stopped moving. I know this has happened before to me so i figured, well here we go again. When i noticed, everyone in vent was ranting about how they couldn't move at all because of such bad lag. Then i noticed all chat go nuts from the other team, cuz they couldn't move.
Throughout the night i constantly managed my ping and noticed it was around the 600 mark along with half my guild who were experiencing the same problem. Is there something going on? or Are us few just very very unlucky and experiencing lag?

It was sometime last night when I thought my computer failed on me when I was HA'ing. The whole game just froze & everyone on vent was confused about their connection.
After 10 minutes or so, I asked everyone in the alliance if they experience the same issue? I had at least 10+ positive response that they experience the same issue as I did.
What happened?
(-.-)?

I've been lagging for the last few weeks and its getting silly. I know it's not my PC (its new and high spec) and i'm not the only one being hit by it, but then, not everyone is.
It could be our English ISP's, but somehow i think it is more likely an issue with the Euro Servers given how much complaining has been going on. My ping is averaging over 1000 on most nights now and goes as high as 5000!!!

Maybe it's your turn to have a bad lag now, seeing that EU server been having it for weeks.

Of course, we all know that lagg exist on guild wars. "lagg" can be due to various reason such as a poor graphic card, poor internet connection, background applications, or guildwars itself.
If you were not playing last night, you would not know what lagg I am talking about... lols...it was NOT even a lag, the game FROZE and everyone else on vent was still able to talk to each other perfectly =D

I don't think its just the English ISP's. I have been having similar issues the last week or so. I will have a normal green connection (100-200 ping) and then intermittently getting excessively high pings and the red connection at around 800-1200+ ping. My computer is also new, highly specced, and my connection is two-way cable. I have also been having a higher frequency of Err 7's between loading screens and not being able to reconnect. And by higher frequency I mean more than 0.
Oh, and I am on the East Coast of America on American servers.

I have had the freeze issue myself on some occassions, but dont use vent, so cant comment on that.
The lag shouldnt be my graphics card (512, PCI-express) or my internet connection (2 meg broadband), i dont have any other windows or programs open (except antivirus and the like, but nothing more than i had running when lag used to be mostly non-existant a month or so ago), which does kinda leave the probability of it being a Guild Wars server issue (which us Europeans having been highlighting for a while now).

Try going on vent during your lag, you will notice that you can still talk to people with the normal vent lag. So its very obvious that its not your computer, but rather Guild Wars.

I suggest you contact Anet support. I've made a thread this morning similar to this and decided to let Anet know that it's still happening. The more people that contact them, the more they'll realise they have to do something about it.

Guess what ?, You Voice chat services are not hosted on the same machine that Guild Wars is nor does it use the same type of system resources as the Game Client. That often means a variety of things. Like A) It is on a different service, placing it in a different region, requiring a different route B) Maybe this Voice Chat service is closer, making your latency and packet lose lower or even reaching its destination before the problem point in the route is reached C) Might be a local machine issue, A Device Failure does not always mean a System Wide Failure D) A Software Failure, These failures also do not always cause System Wide Failures.
Did you know that your provided Internet services can be unstable, they can have shaped Traffic, They can have Prioritized traffic, they can have bandwidth caps, they can be shared, they can be over sold, they can be just plain having problems.
The only good piece of Advice in this thread is that if you are sure its not your machine, heck even if you are not sure, file a report with the support staff. If No one knows about it, or if it appears Isolate no one will do anything about it.

Yeah and i didn't say it was hosted on the same machine as guild wars. I said you can clearly tell its not your own computer. And it is very obvious that it is GW, because everyone is getting err7's, people are constantly lagging out, in top matches of GVG's you see people standing around doing nothing on observer mode.

It would have to be something on Anets end, if its not just a few people, and its not just one area. Im thinking it MAY have been a hack/DoS attempt, but Im not sure.

I am getting bad Lag as well and it is very bad as I will get only 1FPs with 1500 to 2500 ping.I was having internet issues last week and had my computer serviced last weekend 16 and 17th.That is resolved as I was getting dced from even web sites now I face all this bad lag and low FPS.i have been doing everything I can think of even used that utility in the Sticky at the top. This really only happens when I play GW and I live on the West Coast of Canada.

The voice chat systems that exsist today with the exception of Skype are client/Server applications, That means YOU ARE running the CLIENT (which includes skype)on the same machine as guildwars. This is a refernce to the fact that one piece of software can fail but not the whole system, that does not institute a network failure.
Please also note that my REFERENCE to HOSTING is clearly defined and not in anyway connected with the idea of a local Voip server. It is connected with the idea that it may be in a different location then the data center you are trying to connect to with guildwars thus placing it OUTSIDE the problem zone that affects your ability to connect and play Guildwars. (Simple no ?)
You will also note that, I never said in any way, shape, or form that it removes the possibility that it is an issue related to an available data center. There are more things involved in your connection to a game server then simply your computer and their computer. Its been said a thousand times that some of these problems causing lag are just out of their control. It is simple, they don't own every computer on the route that your packets take when you try to communicate with their game server. However, if all you do is post on these forums about it, it will in all likely hood continue to occur with out an answer and with out anyone ever bothering to look into the cause of the issue, that is something that we all here at this forum don't have the ability to do. Keep in mind that filing a ticket and getting a resolution are two different things if the problem is outside the control of either service provider. You can't force Joe to fix his broken router because it affects you up stream if it don't bother Joe. Joe has to want to fix his broken router.
Just because a group of people are having problems at one time or another doesn't mean Everyone is having problems. The only time I have ever gotten disconnected was when my own services failed. As a disclaimer since I know I am going to hear it, this is my personal experience not yours, it in no way implies that your problem isn't real, it is a possible explanation to a problem that you wanted an answer for. There is however nothing we can do except provide you with possible explanations to your problem.

i would suggest you reset your computer, wait till everything is done booting, nothing loaded,
and open a terminal window by executing cmd in start -> run,
once in the terminal, execute netstat and see what active connections you have, google the ports to see if its a windows service you dont use, a program you have installed or a virus or malware, there could be something working in the background causing your lag,
